February 10th: Tri-Colore Pasta

 A few years ago my mom, Nuala and I went to Niagara Falls. Because it was so close, we decided we had to also visit Toronto. I will fell in love. Not just with the city, but with the food. I think we ate all the Italian food we could find. We arrived downtown around 10 or 11 in the morning and found ourselves parked right by the St. Lawrence Market. Although we had eaten breakfast, we were ready to eat again. We walked in and found ourselves being presented with homemade pasta and the choice of three differents sauces: marinara, pesto and alfredo. When the woman behind the counter asked if we wanted it "tri-colore," we couldn't say no. That pasta and those sauces sustained us until our next meal. My mom made this the other day for my sister and her kids and it just sounded so good, I decided that we'd have it for dinner one night too. 

Plus green beans.

Plus garlic bread.
